Power Mystery began as the solo bedroom recording project of Alex Phillipe Cohen. In 2015, it evolved into a full-fledged band which began performing regularly throughout New York City, functioning as a largely improvisational collective comprised of many of the eclectic musicians of the Brooklyn underground music scene.

Nest Broom is the first release documenting this new phase of Power Mystery. Side A was recorded live with a 7 piece line-up in upstate NY at Lone Pine Road Studio during the massive blizzard of Jan 2016. Side B includes two live improvisations - one recorded in the living room of some of the band members and the other at a warehouse in Queens.

The droney, dreamy and psychedelic songs on Nest Broom reflect the members' collective influences from diverse psychedelia, free improv and national and global folk music
